General Information
Los Barriles is a seaside area that still retains much of the kick-back pace that
made Baja California Sur popular. Fabulous sandy beaches, clean beautiful seas filled
with fish, crystal clear air, and a remote feeling that seems far removed from civilization.
The road south from Los Barriles also skirts miles of postcard-perfect beaches, with
a couple of small, well maintained hotels ready to serve the needs of Baja California Sur
travelers.
Los Barriles is still famous for fishing, although surfing and kayaking are increasingly
popular. The hotels do a great job of taking care of visitors, and beautiful custom homes
continue to be built on the low bluffs overlooking the Sea of Cortes or, as known in the
maps, Gulf of California. Even with the new homes being built, there is still plenty of wide
open beach front property for all to enjoy.
